​​The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) is participating in the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition, GITEX Global 2023, in Dubai, displaying the new technology of its digital employee “Ziyad". The new technology is part of its efforts to advance its high-quality integrated digital services to its clients.

Ziyad operates on robotic process automation (RPA) technology to accelerate automation and reduce human error by ensuring data accuracy and timely data processing. The digital employee also uses optical character recognition (OCR) to perform repeated tasks, such as data entry, data amendment, document classification, search functions, certification and reporting, in a manner that saves time and effort, digital platform integration and high productivity against an easy user interface.

The digital employee can execute tasks at a higher speed reducing the time from 14 minutes to 13 seconds. ZATCA has so far used Ziyad to assign other tasks to over 160 employees to leverage the human resources of the team.

On another note, ZATCA demonstrated its successful implementation of the electronic invoicing (E-invoicing) system, its trade facilitation initiative (two-hour clearance), and its positive impact on coordinating efforts of various agencies responsible for customs clearance.

On the same tax note, ZATCA also presented the benefits of Real Estate Transaction Tax (RETT) platform as well as many other digital services provided through the ZATCA and Zakaty smart phone applications.

Through its participation in the 43rd edition of the GITEX Global 2023, ZATCA seeks to promote communication with technology companies specialized in integrated digital services development to develop ZATCA's different platforms to offer a seamless customer experience delivered with ease and transparency.

GITEX Global is held at the World Trade Center in Dubai from October 16 to 20, 2023, hosting global technology companies and government agencies, allowing visitors to witness the latest technological innovations.
