In order to facilitate the movement of goods and trade, bonded zones allow the importers and exporters to store goods and conduct logistic operations, with suspending fees and taxes payment until they are entered into the local market or re-exported. These zones shall be subject to the supervision of Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) and the management of the licensed operating company to operate the zone or warehouse.
Goal
The purpose is to provide a professional logistic environment in order to support the movement and logistic services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the operations of storing, assembling, redistributing and exporting to contribute to make the Kingdom a global logistics hub.
Advantages of Bonded Zones
Enabling non-resident merchants to conduct the operations in the bonded zone without having a Saudi commercial Register .

Licenses of Bonded Zones
The bonded zone is adopted and licensed under a document issued by ZATCA to the establishment authorizing it as an operator to carry out the operations and activities licensed in the bonded zones according to the terms and conditions of the licenses granted as per the type of activity. The establishment applying for the license shall determine the type of bonded zone desiring to manage according to the following classifications:
1- Bonded Zones License
| It includes the following activities: - Storage and handling - Value-added operations such as: (Packaging, coding, sorting, and labeling)

2- Specialized Bonded Zones License
| It includes the following activities: - Storage and handling - Value-added operations such as: (Packaging, coding, sorting, and labeling) - E-Commerce - Assembling - Maintenance Mixing and combination

3- Bonded Zones Tanks License
| It includes the following activities: - Storing liquid petroleum and petrochemical derivatives and bulk products |
4- Temporary Bonded Zone License
| All activities conducting in bonded zones shall be allowed to be carried out for 6 months at maximum.
