His Excellency the Governor of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), Eng. Suhail bin Mohammed Abanmi, has commended the Royal Order extending ZATCA's implementation of the "clearance within two hours" initiative. In line with the extension, he has been coordinating with the relevant authorities, in its own jurisdiction and field of work.

Eng. Abanmi praised the noble Royal Order as a proof of the wise leaders' interest and keenness to support the efforts exerted to achieve the goals the Saudi Vision 2030 to transform the Kingdom into a global platform for logistics services. Eng. Abanmi stated that the extension of the implementation of the clearance within two hours initiative would result in significant effects on facilitating and increasing the flexibility of customs operations, and the related logistics services. In addition, it shall contribute to raising the level of coordination between entities related to customs clearance, which would support the Kingdom's competitiveness in the trading across borders indicator and improve the business environment in the Kingdom.

Eng. Abanmi added that the extension of the initiative would promote ZATCA's role in the national logistics services system, through its initiatives and services towards facilitating trade and boosting the flow of goods to and from the Kingdom, supported by its partners from the relevant entities, the private sector, business owners, and all categories of ZATCA's customers.

The extended clearance within two hours initiative focuses on the concerned government entity's job to accept or reject the clearance of goods. It must also respond to requests for manual inspection, submit any additional documents, indicate the need for more time to study the request, or any other procedure within two hours from receipt of the request through the technical linkage, after the commercial establishment fulfills and submits all its requirements to the shipment data in an electronic form.​
