The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority held a series of awareness workshops as part of its participation in the Law Week activities organized by the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority “Monsha'at" in cooperation with the Saudi Bar Association during the period from 17-20 September 2023 G in Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar and Madinah.

The workshops were held under the title “facilitations provided by ZATCA to small and medium Enterprises" with the aim of educating participants about the initiatives undertaken by the ZATCA to encourage entrepreneurship and efforts to facilitate and develop procedures through digitization and modern integrated solutions to support SMEs, thus contributing to the development of the national economy and increasing rates of commitment and zakat and tax compliance.

The workshops held by ZATCA also aim at illustrating efforts to develop customs and logistics services to facilitate the movement of trade and flow of goods and services, attract investments, improve business efficiency and focus on improving customer experience.

The agenda of the workshops includes an overview of Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority and its compliance towards taxpayers, in addition to the responsibility of taxpayers towards ZATCA. Giving information to participants of the most important zakat, tax and customs services provided by ZATCA on its website and (ZATCA) application for smart devices. Then, display the recording mechanism and modify the data for zakat purposes, income tax, withholding tax, VAT, excise goods tax, Real estate transaction tax and an explanation of the mechanism for calculating zakat and tax of various types. This in addition to explaining the procedures for installment and calculation of debts, and a review of the most important certificates issued by ZATCA.
