 Al Haditha Customs Foils (3) Attempts for Smuggling More Than 539 Thousand “Captagon” Pills

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has successfully thwarted (3) attempts to smuggle more than 539 thousand “Captagon" pills in Al Haditha Port, were found hidden in to trucks and a vehicle coming to the Kingdom through the portal.

ZATCA indicated that in the first attempt, it has foiled the smuggling of (187,200) “Captagon" pills that have been found hidden in various parts in one of the trucks arrived through the portal. In the second attempt, Customs has thwarted the smuggling of (210,400) “Captagon" pills that were found hidden inside the radiator used for cooling the truck trailer. The third attempt has been foiled by Al Haditha Customs, where (142,200) “Captagon" pills have been found hidden inside the tire of one of the vehicles arriving through the portal.

ZATCA spares no effort to tighten its grip over the Kingdom's imports and exports. The Authority vows ever to be vigilant against smuggling attempts to realize its goal of strengthening security and protecting society against these harmful substances and other contraband.

At the same time, the Authority has called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling and protecting society and the national economy by reaching out to the Authority's number designated for security reports (1910), via e-mail at 1910@zatca.gov.sa or by the international number (00966114208417). Through these channels, the Authority receives and follows up on reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Common Customs Law in strict confidentiality, with a financial reward given to the whistleblower if the reported information is proven correct.
