ZATCA participates in Hajj and Umrah Conference and Exhibition

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) participated in the Conference and Exhibition for Hajj and Umrah: Transformation towards Innovation, which sponsored by HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, and Governor of Mecca Region

ZATCA joined the Conference with the aim of highlighting certain initiatives on its operation in the zakat, tax and customs. A crucial initiative is “Pilgrimage without a Bag" that is a joint effort between ZATCA with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The initiative aims to reduce the time and effort exerted by pilgrims. The initiative operates by facilitating customs procedures, achieving effective cooperation and continuous coordination with the entities serving Hajj, unifying efforts and creating collaborative work to ensure the success of Hajj season plan and realize the kingdoms' vision concerning serving pilgrims.

During the Exhibition, ZATCA presented the "Pilgrimage without Bag" initiative and its positive impact on Hajj especially after it was put on hold during the Covid-19 pandemic, in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The initiative contributed to improving the quality of services provided to the pilgrims, and providing comfort and safety to the visitors. In addition, the initiative helped reduce the time of baggage transfer and customs procedures and enhance the positive image of the Kingdom.
