HRH Prince Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, said GAZT plays an “important” role in the collection of Zakat and taxes from taxpayers.
HRH the Prince also highlighted the tremendous support given to the GAZT by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The governor hailed the Authority's continuous and intensive efforts to develop the working methods of its departments and branches, harness technology to speed up and facilitate the services, streamline procedures in accordance with the rules and instructions, and avoid delay in identifying business’ tax/Zakat-related status.
HRH Prince Faisal stressed the importance of direct communication between the GAZT and the taxpayers in order to answer their questions regarding the new tax laws.
He highlighted the GAZT development plans, pointing out that they have been set up in accordance with the National Transformation Plan and Saudi Vision 2030 in order to enhance performance at all areas in the GAZT scope of work.
He called for exerting further efforts, proceeding with and improving electronic services and raising the awareness about VAT.
The prince's remarks was made in a meeting, held at his office, with HE Suhail bin Mohammed Abanmi, Governor of the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT), Mr. Nasser Al Deiban Deputy Governor for Executive Affairs, Mr. Abdullah Al Mutlaq, Al Qassim Branch General Manager and Director of Public Relations Marketing and Communication and senior officials of the authority.
During the meeting, the GAZT officials briefed the prince on the authority’s efforts to collect the Zakat and taxes in accordance with the laws, regulations and instructions and providing high-quality services to businesses in order to help them fulfill their duties.
According to the visiting delegation, the GAZT efforts include follow-up on businesses to ensure they pay Zakat and taxes, boost their awareness, increase their voluntary commitment and ensure their compliance with the instructions and conditions issued by the Authority.
For his part, Abanmi extended thanks and appreciation to the prince for the warm reception, wise guidance and permanent support to the GAZT branch in Al-Qassim.
