​​​​​​​H.E. Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Mutlaq is a member of the Senior Scholars Committee in the Kingdom and a former member of the Permanent Committee for Research and Iftaa.  He is an advisor to the Royal Court. He also heads the Department of Comparative Jurisprudence at the Higher Institute of the Judiciary. 

H.E. Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Mutlaq is a member of many Boards, including the Shariah Board of the General Assembly of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), the Shariah Board of Saudi Banks and other financial institutions and the Saudi Fiqh Association.

H.E. Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Mutlaq received his Ph.D. in Comparative Jurisprudence from the Higher Institute of Judiciary at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University. He is the author of many books on Islamic Fiqh.​​
