Data sharing

It is the process of sharing data produced by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority with other governmental entities, private entities, or individuals, regardless of the source, form, or nature of this data. This includes paper records, emails, data stored on electronic media, audio tapes, video, maps, photographs, manuscripts, handwritten documents, or any other form of recorded data.

Key Principles of Data Sharing
General Guidelines

To ensure efficient and transparent processing of data sharing requests, the following guidelines are followed:

1- Data sharing requests are received via the DMO approved channels, which are: ZATCA website, via Murasalat system, or via the DMO approved email address (DMO-GMA@zatca.gov.sa).

2- The requester shall complete the form prepared for the ZATCA Data Sharing Request when submitting a data sharing request.

3- The requester shall clarify the legality of the purpose for which the data is being requested, and the request must include either of the following:

  • A legal basis issued by one of the competent authorities responsible for issuing legal orders and directives in KSA, taking into consideration the hierarchy of legal instruments.
  • An agreement or Memorandum of Cooperation signed between ZATCA and the entity to which the requester belongs or any of the entities regarding data sharing under the provisions of this policy.
  • A justified practical need to obtain data, at DMO discretion.

4- The requester shall obtain the necessary third-party approvals, if required, and provide them to the DMO.

5- The requester shall be redirected to the National Open Data Platform for public data sharing requests.
