The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has achieved first place in the Local Content Excellence Award in the Government Entities category, attaining a perfect 100% score. The Authority is the first government entity in the Kingdom to reach this rate since the award’s launch. This milestone reflects the maturity of ZATCA’s practices in implementing local content requirements in its procurement and contracts.
This achievement stems from ZATCA’s efforts to strengthen governance, improve monitoring and documentation, and enhance institutional mechanisms. It also highlights effective coordination across departments, leading to higher compliance with local content requirements and greater impact of government spending on the national economy.
During its participation, ZATCA incorporated local content requirements into relevant tenders and contracts, ensured adherence to approved mechanisms, improved data quality, and strengthened coordination with stakeholders. These steps demonstrate institutional efficiency and the integration of roles.
These efforts have also elevated the Authority’s internal readiness, developed monitoring and documentation tools, and supported the sustainability of local content practices. This aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in promoting economic development and advancing local content.
The Local Content Award, launched by the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, aims to encourage government entities and the private sector to develop local content, raise awareness, and promote competitiveness.
This success reaffirms ZATCA’s commitment to developing and sustaining its local content practices, enhancing government spending efficiency, and supporting national development goals.
