The member states of the World Customs Organization (WCO) elected the representative of the Kingdom in the working group, Mr. Abdulaziz bin Muhammad Al-Ohali, Director-General of Data and Analytics at ZATCA, to head the Data and Statistics Working Group at WCO during its meetings held at its headquarters in Brussels, in the presence of WCO Secretary-General HE Dr. Kunio Mikuriya.

The election of the Kingdom's representative in the Working Group is a result of WCO member states' realization of ZATCA's distinction in the field of data and analytics, in addition to the continuous efforts made by ZATCA in developing data strategies for WCO, as well as statistics standards and capacity building, so as to use the best practices of data production and analysis at the level of WCO member states.

The meetings and workshops held by WCO witnessed ZATCA's showcasing of its experience in the Open Data Platform, which is considered as a central point that gives users a faster and easier opportunity to access, download, and use the data sets that ZATCA publishes. The services of the Platform benefit all of ZATCA's clients of all categories, individuals or business sectors, in addition to benefiting from the data provided by the Platform in research, reports, statistics, and support for new businesses, which contributes to improving the level of knowledge and expertise.

ZATCA focuses its efforts in the field of data on its initiatives related to advanced analytics, business intelligence, and decision support through data products and services that are in line with data governance policies and integration in all areas of ZATCA's various works, with the aim of improving the level of know-how in the field of data.​
