The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) successfully thwarted two attempts to smuggle more than 69,000 pills of the narcotic substance “amphetamine" (Captagon Pills), which were found hidden inside the clothing of two passengers arriving in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the airport.
ZATCA clarified that in the first attempt, 34,588 pills were discovered concealed within the clothing of a passenger arriving on one of the flights. In the second attempt, 34,457 pills were found hidden in the same manner as in the previous case.
The Authority reaffirmed its continued commitment to strengthening customs control over Saudi Arabia's imports and exports and to confronting all smuggling attempts. This effort aligns with one of the core pillars of ZATCA's strategy: enhancing security and protecting society by limiting the entry of harmful substances and other prohibited items.
ZATCA urged the public to contribute to combating smuggling in order to safeguard society and the national economy.
