The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at strengthening partnership frameworks in the fields of innovation, sustainability, and modern technologies, as well as developing human capabilities.
This step supports institutional performance and contributes to achieving sustainable development.
The agreement was signed on behalf of ZATCA by Eng. Hamad Al-Hamidi, Deputy Governor of Human Capital, and on behalf of KAUST by Dr. Ian Campbell, Vice President of KAUST for the National Transformation Institute (NTI).
The memorandum establishes a regulatory framework for governing the relationship between the two parties, enabling the exchange of expertise and the utilization of KAUST's research and academic capabilities, technical resources, and laboratories.
The partnership aims to collaborate on the implementation of environmental projects and sustainability-related initiatives, in addition to supporting scientific research fields related to ZATCA's work, and developing groundbreaking technical solutions to improve institutional efficiency. The memorandum also includes additional areas of cooperation covering institutional innovation management, enhancing international partnerships, and expanding opportunities to leverage the KAUST's advanced infrastructure.
Commenting on signing the memorandum, Dr. Ian Campbell, Vice President of KAUST for NTI, stated: "We are proud of this partnership with ZATCA, which represents an effective model for collaboration between academic institutions and government entities.
