The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle 40 Kilograms of the substance “Cocaine" hidden in a shipment arriving at Jeddah Islamic Port.
ZATCA reported that the shipment had been declared as “medications." During routine customs inspection using advanced security technologies and K9 units, the cocaine was discovered concealed within the shipment.
ZATCA confirmed its commitment to enforcing strict customs controls on the Kingdom's imports and exports and emphasized its determination to ensure societal security and protect it from such threats, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.
ZATCA also urged the public to support its anti-smuggling efforts to protect society and the national economy by reporting suspected activities via the designated security report number (1910), email (1910@zatca.gov.sa), or the international number (009661910). ZATCA assures the public that all reports related to smuggling and violations of the Unified Customs Law are treated with strict confidentiality, and that financial rewards are granted for accurate and verified information.
