 The Third Edition of Zakat, Tax and Customs Conference Kicks off Today in Riyadh.

Today marked the launch of the Zakat, Tax and Customs (ZATCA) Conference under the theme "Shaping Tomorrow for Sustainable Ecosystem". This third edition of the Conference, organized by ZATCA, will take place during the period of 4 and 5 December 2024 under the patronage of the Minister of Finance, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ZATCA, H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, with the participation of officials and experts from around the world.

The Minister of Finance opened the Conference with a speech in which he emphasized that the Conference contributes to strengthening joint international efforts to address tax and customs challenges, in an effort to support economic growth, exchange experiences, and help everyone achieve economic recovery.

The Minister of Finance further explained that this Conference comes at a time when the Kingdom has made significant and important strides in achieving the initiatives and goals of the Saudi Vision 2030. Additionally, he highlighted the active role of ZATCA in achieving these goals, especially with regard to digital transformation, where it has made great progress in making it one of the most important enablers in facilitating business. ZATCA has achieved a score of 99.35% in the United Nations E-Government Development Index, thanks to the development of its digital services and the implementation of more than 350 requirements in accordance with this Index.

He pointed out that, since its establishment, ZATCA has succeeded in achieving its objectives and development programs, thereby contributing to economic growth as part of the fruits of the economic reforms that Saudi Arabia is undergoing within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030.

For his part, His Excellency the Governor of the ZATCA, H.E. Eng. Suhail Mohammed Abanmi, confirmed in his speech delivered on this occasion that "ZATCA seeks, through this Conference, to combine local, regional, and international efforts towards building advanced zakat, tax, and customs systems that contribute to enhancing global economic growth and confronting security and economic challenges."

The Governor of ZATCA also explained that during the Conference, a range of topics will be highlighted. These include Zakat, as a fundamental pillar for building cohesive societies. Tax and customs policies and their discussions will also be given special attention during the Conference.

He continued: "Our vision for the future of zakat, tax, and customs requires us all to work together in a spirit of partnership and innovation. This Conference, with its discussions and insights, and the accompanying exhibition rich in local, regional, and international participation showcasing the latest innovations, solutions, and services, represents a unique opportunity to learn about different experiences and expertise and build strategic partnerships.

The first day of the Conference includes a number of dialogue sessions in which many Excellencies, experts, and leaders are participating.

The ZATCA Conference in its third edition is being held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh. It features extensive participation from around the world, with dialogue sessions and an accompanying exhibition that includes around 90 local, regional, and international entities. In addition, the Conference will host over 70 workshops and see the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding​​
