The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) took part in the 2024 FIATA Conference, held in Panama from September 24 to 27, 2024. Organized by the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), the event gathered logistics industry leaders and stakeholders from around the world.
During the Conference, ZATCA showcased its services at an exhibition booth, highlighting its efforts to streamline trade through logistics and customs solutions. Key among these was the Saudi Authorized Economic Operator Program (Saudi AEO), which fosters a partnership between ZATCA and businesses, enhancing global supply chain security and providing additional benefits to simplify cross-border trade. ZATCA also promoted its logistical and customs services in bonded zones and free markets, as well as the support and facilitation provided to the customs clearance sector, which plays a strategic role in achieving ZATCA’s trade facilitation goals in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
ZATCA’s participation aimed to strengthen international relationships with logistics and trade facilitation experts. The FIATA exhibition offered an opportunity to discuss emerging trends and advancements in logistics services and their impact on global trade. Additionally, it explored ways to enhance industries and services in transport, shipping, and logistics, including the development of unified shipping documentation.
As an important global platform, the FIATA Conference focused on the future of logistics in the context of technological innovation, the role of logistics in fostering regional and global integration, and the importance of building human capacity within the sector. It also addressed emerging practices like technology solutions and information-sharing between customs and other agencies, which are critical objectives of the event.
