The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has issued a public survey on the draft amendments to the Implementing Regulations of Value Added Tax (VAT) Law. The poll was created on the Istitlaa platform to gather insights and suggestions on the proposed amendments and is scheduled to close by 17 September 2024.
ZATCA announced that the amendments cover 25 articles of the VAT Implementing Regulations and provide further clarifications on such articles. The proposed amendments are also aligned with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's strategic direction towards developing the existing laws and regulations and improving the Saudi business environment. Another benefit will be the improvement of the business sector legislations that require consistent developments onto the Kingdom's tax system. ZATCA also stressed that the draft amendments were anther step into ZATCA's efforts to promote the efficiency of the zakat, tax and customs laws, in a manner that contributes to improving compliance, achieving financial sustainability and supporting the national economy. ZATCA reiterated its support to improve the zakat, tax and customs awareness among all taxpayers and customers and ensure that they have the best experience and streamlined business accessibility and procedures.

ZATCA also announced that the introduction of the draft amendments promotes transparency in the legal framework and raises awareness on public polls to engage the government entities and the private sector in formulating laws relevant to the business environment.
