The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 349,710 Captagon tablets at Jadidat Arar Customs Port. The tablets were found hidden within a shipment entering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the port.

ZATCA explained that a shipment, described as "equipment used for tile cleaning," was subjected to customs procedures and inspected using security technologies and K9 methods. The Captagon tablets were discovered concealed within the equipment.

Following the seizure, ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) to ensure the apprehension of the recipients of the seized items within the Kingdom. Four individuals were arrested.

ZATCA reaffirmed its commitment to tightening customs controls on imports and exports and remaining vigilant against smuggling attempts. This effort is in line with its strategic focus on enhancing community security by reducing attempts to smuggle such harmful substances and other prohibited items.
