The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority
(ZATCA) has updated the Rules of Returned Goods Customs Duties Exemptions. The
new amendments aim to update the requirements for exemption of the returned
goods, address the challenges pertaining to the temporarily exported goods to
complete their manufacture or repair abroad. The updates include the approval
of exemption before the goods leave the customs zone, which will facilitate the
exemption procedures and address challenges against customers regarding
temporarily exported goods to complete their manufacture or repair. The updates also included the
cancellation of the value restrictions on returned goods, where an exemption
request can be submitted for all returned goods, irrespective of their value,
in accordance with the provisions of the Common Customs Law and its Implementing
Regulations.
ZATCA invites customers to view the Rules
of Returned Goods Customs Duties Exemptions on its website (zatca.gov.sa). The
Rules identify all the provisions of the scope of application for the returned
goods of national origin, re-exported returned foreign goods, and the goods
temporarily exported for completion of manufacturing or repair.
