In the port of Duba, ZATCA succeeded in thwarting the attempt to smuggle amount of Captagon pills exceeded more  than 1 million Captagon pills which were found hidden in a shipment coming to the kingdom through the port.

ZATCA explained that a shipment was received through the port of Duba, contains “Pepper and Guava" carried on one of the arriving trucks, and when it was subjected to customs procedures and examined through security techniques and live means, (1,006,518) Captagon pills were found hidden within the shipment.

ZATCA noted that after completing the seizure, coordination was made with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to ensure that the recipient of the seized items was arrested inside the Kingdom, where he was arrested.

ZATCA stressed that it continue to tighten customs control over imports and exports of the Kingdom, and stands against the attempts by smugglers in order to achieve the most important pillars of its strategy which is strengthen the security and protection of society by reducing attempts to smuggle such pests and other drugs.

ZATCA called on all people to contribute to anti-smuggling to protect society and the national economy by contacting thereon the number allocated to security reports (1910) or via email (1910@zatca.gov.sa ) or the international number (00966114208417) Through these channels, ZATCA receives reports related to smuggling offences and breaches of the provisions of the Unified Customs law in strict confidentiality, granting a financial reward to the whistleblower if the report's information is correct.
