The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority “ZATCA" at the Haditha port has thwarted an attempt to smuggle more than 64 thousand Captagon pills found hidden in two vehicles that arrived in the Kingdom through the port.
ZATCA stated that superseded to, foil smuggling of 41.279 Captagon pills, in the first attempt, where they have been found hidden in various parts in the vehicle, while in the second attempt, 22,00 of Captagon polls have been found hidden by the same way through a vehicle arrived to the Kingdom through the port.
After the Captagon pills were seized, the five contraband recipients inside the Kingdom were arrested in collaboration with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC), added ZATCA.
ZATCA spares no effort to tighten its grip over the Kingdom's imports and exports. ZATCA vows to ever be vigilant against any smuggling attempts in order to realize its goal for strengthening the security and protecting society against these harmful substances. This is in continuous coordination and cooperation with its partners in the General Directorate of Narcotics Control
At the same time, ZATCA has called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling and protecting the society and national economy by reaching out to the ZATCA's number designated for security reports (1910), via e-mail 1910@zatca.gov.sa or by the international number (00966114208417). ZATCA, through these channels, receives and follows up reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Common Customs Law in strict confidence, with a financial reward given to the whistleblower if the reported information is proven correct.
