The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MoHU) signed a cooperation agreement with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) to improve services to pilgrims arriving at airports in Makkah during the Hajj season 1445 H. Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Abdelfattah bin Suleiman Mashat and ZATCA's Vice Governor for Security Affairs, Eng. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Nuaim attended the signing of this agreement that aims to improve the services provided to pilgrims arriving at airports in Makkah through the “Pilgrimage Without Bag" initiative as an additional service.
The service entails dealing with pilgrims' luggage in the international arrival halls at airports, after they undergo customs procedures, and delivering them directly to the pilgrims' places of residence in Makkah.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 2024 Hajj and Umrah Services Conference and Exhibition, organized by MoHU from January 8 to 11, in which ZATCA takes part.
The conference tackled the “Pilgrimage Without Bag" initiative and its benefits; it contributes to improving the quality of services provided to pilgrims, increasing comfort levels, and achieving the highest safety standards during their presence, in addition to reducing the period for transporting luggage and speeding up the completion of customs procedures.
