The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has won the Excellence Award for the best national achievements in 2023, as one of the annual awards for National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), for completing the “Clearance within Two Hours" initiative.
The annual award for NIDLP program prizes has been held in the presence of H.E the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al Khorayef, H.E the Minister of Transport Saleh Al- Jasser, H.E the Governor of Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority Suhail bin Mohammed Abanmi and the CEO of National Industrial Development and Logistics Program Engineer Suliman Al Mazroua.
The award of ZATCA has been received by the vice governor for operations, Mr. Abdullah Al- Sadhan, as ZATCA has been honored for its endeavors and contributions in mitigating customs clearance period from 288 hours in 2016 into two hours during 2023, through the “Clearance within Two Hours" Initiative. This is in addition to working tirelessly to build an effective customs ecosystem, and developing customs procedures through leveraging digitization across all customs areas, as well developing business models with ZATCA clearance entities' partners. Moreover, ZATCA has developed a group of logistics and legislations related to clearance services and freight forwarders, supported beneficiaries' services ecosystem through several channels, and opened the all-in-one halls in customs ports in order to elevate the efficiency of the services provided to importers and exporters.
ZATCA has completed the “Clearance within Two Hours" Initiative in collaboration with various relevant entities, where foremost among of them 26 government entities that represent customs clearance entities. This in addition to enhancing electronic integration and the optimum acceleration and automation of procedures, that will be within the frame of ZATCA's endeavors to develop a comprehensive work mechanism in all land, sea and air customs ports within the Kingdom.
NIDLP awards aims at honoring success achievers and the distinguished performance of the executive entities within energy, industry, mineral and logistics sectors which have a significant impact and outstanding role in enhancing the notable development in several indicators within targets of Saudi vision 2030.
