 ZATCA launches a Training Program for Customs Brokers

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) launches a training program for customs brokers, aiming at elevating the competency and skills of the employees in customs clearance sector, in addition to qualifying them to obtain certification of custom clearance profession.

ZATCA has declared that registration in the training program will be through ZATCA electronic portal, where the academic curriculum of the program has been prepared in a form of interactive electronic content through online self-learning, in order to facilitate joining the program whenever convenient.

The training program aims at empowering skills of trainees to deal with customs works, highlighting the fundamental features of the Common Customs Law and recognize the provisions of practicing customs clearance profession and the recent customs procedures in line with the “Clearance within Two hours" Initiative. This is in addition to recognizing customs exemptions, the suspended status of tax, fees and the basis for goods classification, the basic methodology in customs evaluation and the mechanism of inserting customs declaration in Fasah platform.

The program aims also at enhancing the efficiency of customs clearance sector, which is considered a strategic partner in supporting ZATCA targets regarding trade facilitation, in line with Saudi Vision 2030. This is in addition to providing the best services that improve the competitive capacity of the sector, developing custom policies and legislations, and supervising their execution, as well as providing services that contribute in enhancing customer satisfaction, contributing in stimulating investment in logistic sector ecosystem. 

ZATCA has indicated that passing the test is conditional for the trainee to grant the certification of custom clearance profession, in case achieving the certain score, as it define the trainee's ability to undergo the test directly or after completing the training course.
