 ZATCA concluded its participation in “GITEX” Exhibition 2023

Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has concluded its participation in the 43th version in Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX), held in Dubai, UAE, from 16 October 16 to 20 October 2023.

  The participation of ZATCA focused on highlighting the rapid development in its digital service though several e- platforms. It also highlighted the leading experiences in service delivery and facilitating procedures to provide the best experience for clients and taxpayers under the highest quality standards and global best practices.

During the events of the exhibition, ZATCA highlighted its experience in implementing the E-Invoicing project, in its both phases, the first (issuance and filing) the second (integration), making the Kingdom one of the fastest countries globally to adopt this project, thanks to the development of the Kingdom's infrastructure, the ZATCA's development methodology to phased implementation, and the cooperation of commercial enterprises and the readiness of the Saudi private sector to accommodate the latest technological developments.

ZATCA's implementation of the e-invoicing system sets a global benchmark for digital transformation and reducing reliance on paper-based transactions. It was a historic turning point and a qualitative leap in organizing the local market, enhancing databases, expanding tax coverage, and the structure of the digital economy.

Under the theme “Fasah Journey", the Authority highlighted its efforts to enhance digital customs services, leading to aa significant reduction in customs clearance time through the “clearance within two hours" initiative. This aligns with the Kingdom's position as a global logistics platform, as one of the national objectives.

ZATCA, within ongoing efforts of automating the services provided, highlighted through its participation in the exhibition, the details of the digital officer “Ziad" project, which operates automatically, and improves the services effectiveness and saving time and efforts as well improving human resources employment.

ZATCA also reviewed the development in real estate transaction tax platform and the role of the smart device applications such as “ZATCA" app, in facilitating procedures and improving both accuracy and pace of the provided services for clients and taxpayers.

On the sidelines of its participation in GITEX, ZATCA held several key sessions and meetings with a group of stakeholders from government entities and key technology companies, attended by a number of authority officials. These meetings aimed to explore opportunities for mutual cooperation and integration with partners to develop ZATCA services, systems, enhancing the performance, driving development journey, constant improvement of digital services, support business sector and improving the investment environment.
