Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority has announced the issuance of the “Implementing Regulation for the collection of Zakat" project on ISTITLA platform to gain insights of the public regarding the new project aiming at facilitating the wording of the articles and embedding more details and clarifications.
The new edition of the “Implementing Regulation for Zakat Collection" includes an explanation of ZATCA's treatments related to Zakat collection, reducing the variations in concepts between ZATCA and the Zakat payers, with clarifications included in the guides that were not previously included in the current version. The project of the Regulations, which is submitted for survey, includes all rules related to the Zakat collection and issued by independent ministerial decisions. ZATCA also devoted separate chapters to the sectors that have special zakat treatments such as insurance, finance, construction and real estate sectors, etc., taking into account the varied business and economic activities and companies classified on cash. The new regulation clarified the rights of Zakat payers, which enhance the transparency with them and raising the level of zakat awareness.
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority called on the public to review and share opinions on the project of the new Implementing Regulation provided on ISTITLA platform until 17 October 2023G. (2 Rabi al-thani 1445 H). ZATCA provides channels for Zakat payers of business sector to contact the Authority if they have any inquiries, via the 24/7 unified call center number (19993), or through X Account (@Zatca_Care), e-mail (info@zatca.gov.sa), or instant messaging through ZATCA's website (zatca.gov.sa).
