ZATCA Foils Attempts to Smuggle More Than 1.3 Million Captagon Pills at Jeddah Islamic Port

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1,395,930 Captagon pills hidden in incoming consignments to the Kingdom through Jeddah Islamic Port.

ZATCA stated that a consignment of "wooden board" had been received in incoming consignments to the Kingdom via Jeddah Islamic Port, and that the pills were seized following customs inspection using security technologies. The illegal pills were hidden inside the wooden board.

After the Captagon pills were seized, the one contraband recipient inside the Kingdom was arrested in collaboration with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC), added ZATCA.

ZATCA spares no effort to tighten its grip on the Kingdom's imports and exports. ZATCA vows to always be vigilant against any smuggling attempts in order to realize its goal of strengthening security and protecting society against these harmful substances.

At the same time, the Authority has called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling and protecting society and the national economy by reaching out to the Authority's number designated for security reports (1910), via e-mail 1910@zatca.gov.sa, or by the international number (00966114208417). Through these channels, the Authority receives and follows up on reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Common Customs Law in strict confidence, with a financial reward given to the whistleblower if the reported information is proven correct.
