ZATCA Foils 117K Captagon and 6kg Shabu

Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) succeeded, in Al Haditha and Bathaa ports, in foiling two attempts to smuggle more than 117 thousand Captagon pills and more than 6 kg of Shabu, hidden in two trucks arrived at the Kingdom through both ports.

ZATCA declared that in the first attempt, Al Haditha Customs foiled an attempt of smuggling 117,210 Captagon pills where they have been found in several parts of one of the trucks that arrived through the portal. In addition, a second attempt to smuggle 6,170 grams of “Shabu" has been foiled by Bathaa Customs, where they have been found hidden inside fire distinguisher of one of the trucks that arrived at the Kingdom through the port.

ZATCA reported that they worked together with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the seizures inside the Kingdom, where three people were detained.

ZATCA spares no effort to tighten its grip over the Kingdom's imports and exports. The Authority vows ever to be vigilant against smuggling attempts to realize its goal of strengthening security and protecting society against these harmful substances and other contraband.

At the same time, the Authority has called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling and protecting society and the national economy by reaching out to the Authority's number designated for security reports (1910), via e-mail at 1910@zatca.gov.sa or by the international number (00966114208417). Through these channels, the Authority receives and follows up on reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Common Customs Law in strict confidentiality, with a financial reward given to the whistleblower if the reported information is proven correct.
