Duba Port Customs has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle 56,680 Captagon amphetamine pills, which were found hidden in a truck arriving in Saudi Arabia through the port.
ZATCA Official Spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi stated that when the truck arrived in Saudi Arabia via Duba Port and underwent customs procedures, it was inspected using security technologies and K9 units. The pills were discovered concealed in various parts of the truck.
Al-Harbi affirmed that ZATCA, through all its customs ports, continues to tighten customs control over Saudi Arabia’s imports and exports and remains vigilant against smuggling attempts. This aligns with one of the key pillars of its strategy: enhancing the security and protection of society and curbing attempts to smuggle such harmful substances and other prohibited items, in cooperation with its partners: Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.
Al-Harbi called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling in order to protect society and the national economy by contacting the Authority through the dedicated security reports number (1910), email (1910@zatca.gov.sa), or the international number (009661910). Through these channels, the Authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs Law with complete confidentiality, and grants a financial reward to the informant if the information provided proves to be accurate.
