ZATCA: Social Insurance beneficiaries received over SAR 371 million via ZAKATY

Zakat money received through the Zakaty service, since its launch five years ago, has exceeded SAR 371 million, while the total zakat received through the service since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan until now has reached more than SAR 75 million, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) confirmed.

In this regard, ZATCA confirmed that all the money received through the service has been directed to the beneficiaries of the social insurance who are registered with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD), which is distributed directly to the selected groups of beneficiaries of the social insurance through the Zakaty App.

ZATCA added that the service is constantly available through the “Zakaty" App. The application enables zakat payers to make their payments through safe and reliable methods in banks, through SADAD services, Apple Pay and Mada, and many other safe methods that guarantee the speedy and flexible Zakat delivery to the eligible categories. In addition, the application provides the ability to choose the eligible categories of social insurance registrants, who include the families most in need of housing, families of divorced women, families of prisoners, and many other eligible categories.

The Zakaty service has the feature of calculating all the types of the due Zakat, be it cash, gold, silver, shares, etc. Zakat payments can be made in a dependable, hassle-free, and speedy manner with the issuance of an invoice for each process. The App also provides the Zakat date reminders.

It is worth noting that the “Zakaty" service received great interaction and an increase in the number of downloads during the holy month of Ramadan, due to the ease, flexibility and speed of the application and the speed of implementing the process of calculating and paying out Zakat, as well as the multiple secure options for payment.
