 ZATCA announced as first government entity to pass continuous improvement program

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority has passed the continuous improvement program in engineering project management. ZATCA is the first government entity to pass the Government Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority provided program.

ZATCA won the standing after meeting all the requirements and standards necessary to pass the program. The most prominent of those requirements was coping with the changes in ZATCA's engineering project management by developing a speedy and efficient work system, improving the quality of procedures and processes, which contributed to raising productivity, practicing and sustaining continuous improvement, and enhancing creative thinking skills which triggers solutions in engineering projects.

The Authority explained that the introduction of the continuous improvement concept yielded positive results, namely achieving expenditure efficiency give the enhancement made to the quality of procedures and processes. It also contributed to harness supporting plans and strategies in view of adopting continuous improvement principles.

The Authority further added that it constantly seeks to develop standards and methodologies necessary to effectively and efficiently implement its projects. It also ensures the application of best practices in the field of engineering project management, insofar as achieving the quality in their implementation and improving their efficiency, and achieving the objectives of the National Project Management, National Project Management, Operation, and Maintenance Organization in Public Entities (Mashroat).

It is noteworthy that the continuous improvement program provided by the Government Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority is concerned with applying improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement and government entity capacity building techniques through training and empowering its employees in record time to enhance quality and expenditure efficiency.​
