ZATCA urges business sector to submit excise tax returns for March and April

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has urged the business sector, eligible to pay the excise tax to submit their tax returns for March and April, on a date no longer than the 15th of May.

The Authority has called on taxpayers of the business sector to promptly submit their tax returns through its website (gazt.gov.sa) to avoid the fine for late submissions, which is 5% of the unsettled tax every 30 days after the due date.

In the meantime, ZATCA invites taxpayers who wish to learn more about the excise goods tax to reach out via its 24/7 call center hotline (19993), the Customer Care Twitter account (@Gazt_care), via e-mail (info@gazt.gov.sa), or by instant messages on ZATCA's website (gazt.gov.sa).

Excise tax is a tax law in force in the Kingdom, the tax is – at various rates – levied on goods that have an adverse effect on the public health or environment, which include soft drinks, energy drinks, sweetened drinks, tobacco, and the like.
