ZATCA: Penalty Exemption Extended to June 2026

02 February 2021

The General Authority of Zakat and Income (GAZT) has issued a Simplified Guide on Exemption of Penalties Initiative after it had announced the extension of the initiative for another six months ending on June 30.

The guide provide taxpayers with information on the initiative regarding the fines and penalties covered by the cancellation and exemption. It also lists the conditions for receiving such exemption as well as the exemption rates and periods.

GAZT had announced the extension of the Cancellation of Fines and Exemption of Penalties Initiative on January 21. The initiative is part of the incentive initiatives taken by ZATCA to mitigate the financial implications resulting from COVID-19 that affected establishments.

ZATCA has urged taxpayers subject to the tax laws to review the initiative guide through its website (gazt.gov.sa). The Authority also invites people who wish to learn more about the initiative and other GAZT's services to call its 24/7 call center hotline (19993), Customer Care Twitter account (@Gazt_Care), via e-mail (info@gazt.gov.sa), or by instant messages on its website (gazt.gov.sa).
