On Thursday, December 31, the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) at its Riyadh headquarters signed a memorandum of understanding with the Project Management Institute (PMI) – Saudi Office. PMI is the leading international institute focusing on developing project management and upgrading their operations around the world. The MoU would enhance cooperation between the GAZT and PMI in the fields of common interest.
GAZT Deputy Governor for Strategy and Development Mr. Muhannad Basudan and PMI CEO Mr. Badr Borasheed concluded the agreement.
The MoU aims to develop the skills and capabilities of the Authority's employees who are tasked by the management of its several projects. It also means to exchange the knowledge and experiences related to project management and operations between GAZT and PMI employees in the Kingdom. In addition, the agreement shall connect projects managers in the Authority with the professional development channels both locally and internationally.
The memorandum shall provide GAZT employees with several professional development programs and help exchange relevant information, reports, and studies between both parties. The MoU also aims to support efforts for the creation of a professional environment that enables project management. The agreement is yet another step towards the nationalization of the profession and give PMI access to the facilities of the GAZT to hold tests and training programs in coordination with the Authority.
