The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) for the fifth year in a row provides zakat payers with the option to pay their zakat voluntarily through the “Zakaty" App, or through its website that is dedicated to this service (zakaty.gov.sa).
The service allows for zakat payment to banks in a safe and reliable manner through SADAD or "Apple Pay" payment services, enabling quick and flexible options. ZATCA revealed that the service is being provided for the fifth year in a row, after it achieved remarkable success over the past years.
The Authority stated that Zakaty is used to urge zakat payers to make their payments through highly efficient and flexible means, and to guarantee that Zakat money reaches its beneficiaries who are registered with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD).
The Zakaty service also allow zakat payers to choose the eligible categories of social security registrants, and helps calculate all due zakat types, be it money, gold, silver, shares, etc. Zakat payers receive invoices for each transaction, and can use the feature of Zakat date reminders.
It is noteworthy that “Zakaty" service has witnessed a great and increasing interaction among individuals in the past year, in addition to the increase in downloads for “Zakaty" App, because it is user friendly and flexible as well as fast and provides quick and safe payment options.
The total zakat received through the service last holy month of Ramadan reached over 87 million riyals.
