The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority made updates on the Public Auction Rules with a view to ensuring impartiality and transparency of the auction processes and procedures, supervising the auction, applying the terms and conditions that observe the interests of the goods owner, the purchaser and the public, and streamlining the sale of the confiscated, abandoned, waived or seized goods.
The updates included development of procedures for announcing the auctions via the approved official channels, and making available the details of all auctions announced on ZATCA’s website to ensure enhanced transparency and enable the bidders to participate in accordance with specific and clear policies, saving both time and effort. In addition, this includes allowing entry to auctions for natural or legal persons, whether citizens and non-citizens. The updates also involved clarifying the requirements and procedures related to auctions to enhance transparency and increase bidder commitment.
Driven by its dedication to constantly enhancing Zakat, tax and customs procedures, ZATCA has implemented these updates to optimize service delivery and leverage the best practices in the interest of the beneficiaries.
