Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has taken part in the Sustainable Maritime Industry Conference (SMIC), which was organized by the Transport General Authority under the title “Innovation for Green Future" from 4 to 6 September 2023 in Jeddah.
During its participation in the exhibition accompanying the conference, ZATCA reviewed Customs services related to trade facilitation, on top of which comes the “Clearance within Two Hours Initiative" that is considered a unique model for unifying the efforts between customs clearance authorities aiming at promoting KSA's position as a global logistics center. Moreover, it pointed out to the Priority Program (Saudi Authorized Economic Operator - AEO) which represents one of the prominent initiatives for trade facilitation provided by ZATCA to the commercial establishments. This program relies on the partnership between ZATCA and establishments, enhances the security of global supply chain and provides more advantages for trade facilitation. In addition, ZATCA's participation included introducing its customs services in deposit zones and its contributions to create an attractive investment environment in the KSA.
ZATCA's participation comes in line with its endeavors to enhance communication with interested parties in events, exhibitions and conferences in the fields of Zakat, tax and customs.
SIMC conference has witnessed holding a number of panel discussions and workshops that focus on applying modern innovation and technologies in maritime industries, getting inspiration from the most prominent global and advanced practices by hosting experts, decision makers and maritime sector leaders from all over the world in order to exchange experiences and knowledge and explore future solutions.
