Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority encourages individuals to pay Zakat via "Zakaty"

Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) encouraged individuals to pay their Zakat "voluntary" via Zakaty App for smart phones or via service website (zakaty.gov.sa) where this service provides the ability to calculate the payable Zakat of various type. This Zakat includes funds, gold, silver, stocks, investment funds, lands, etc. with issuing an invoice for the transaction. In addition, it provides the function of reminding about the Zakat due date, especially calculating gold Zakat as per its purity through a specific logarithm, as Zakaty is connected to the global rates of gold and silver.

In this regard, ZATCA clarified that zakat amounts provided by Zakaty exceeded SAR 431 million as for now, since the service was launched before 6 years. ZATCA confirmed that all amounts provided through Zakaty were used by the beneficiaries who are registered in the Social Insurance at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. The Zakat is directed to the selected categories through the App.

ZATCA added that the service is available continuously via Zakaty for smart phones to enable individuals to calculate and pay zakat through the safe and reliable methods of payment in the banks via SADAD, Apple Pay, mada and other methods ensuring the quick and reliability of paying zakat to those who are eligible, with the possibility of selecting the eligible categories registered in the Social Insurance. The most prominent categories are represented in families most in need of housing, families of divorced women, families of prisoners and other eligible categories, confirming that service is supervised by specialists in Zakat jurisprudence and calculation.

Furthermore, ZATCA clarified that it upgraded the service, so that the beneficiary is allowed to know the prices of stocks and investment funds by clicking on the stock or fund's name. This function was applied after ZATCA completed the link with Tadawul.
