The first workshop of the specialized workshops (first round) for accountants of Jeddah branch of the General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) kicked off on Sunday 15/5/1438 AH. The workshop is meant to improve the performance of the authority’s employees.
The GAZT Department of Development and Research organizes workshops on annual basis at the main headquarters and branches under the supervision of experienced GAZT officials and employees.
The first workshop covered a number of subjects, including the tasks of the taxpayer service departments at the GAZT branches as well as the rights and duties of taxpayers.
It also touched upon the personal traits taxpayer service staff should have, as well as the registration problems and ways to handle them. It discussed the new ERAD system, the mechanism of registration and the unified declarations.
The workshop, inaugurated by GAZT Director General H.E Tareq bin Abdulrahman Al Sadhan, was attended by Deputy Director General Saad bin Abdul Aziz Al Saedan, Director of the Audit Department Mohamed bin Ibrahim Al Hassan, Director General of Jeddah branch Ahmed bin Obaid Al Ta’ifi, Manager of the GAZT Director General Office Abdulrahman Nasser Al Asmari and Acting Director General of the Development and Research Department Hassan bin Omar Balkhi.
Al Sadhan welcomed all the participants and called on them to benefit from such workshops in order to improve their performance and increase their knowledge. He pointed out that the GAZT is now turned into general authority, and this will require more involvement of modern technology and increase in number of employees.
Al Sadhan and his accompanying delegation toured the branch departments and divisions and met with employees who shared with the Director General their comments and suggestions on developing and improving the performance.
He hailed the remarkable development in the Jeddah branch and the efforts exerted by the branch employees that led to such development and an increasing growth of the revenues.
He thanked the branch director and employees for the warm reception and wished them more success and good luck.
