As a part of the efforts to promote joint action and continuous communication between the Zakat departments of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Heads of Zakat departments of GCC held their 12th  meeting in Doha, Qatar, in Sunday - Monday, 3 - 4/2/1437 AH, 15-16/11/1437 AD. 

The meeting was chaired by Director of Qatar's Zakat Fund Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Jassim bin Mohammed Al Kubaisi. 

The meeting addressed a number of issues including a report to follow up the decisions taken in the eleventh meeting, the fourth training plan for the period 2016-2018, and the GCC competition for research and creative work in the Zakat field.

During the meeting, the follow-up report, issued by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council regarding various zakat issues and the obstacles that face the zakat departments, were reviewed.   Moreover, a documentary study on the traditions of Zakat collection in the GCC and recommendations of member states were discussed. 

This meeting came to build on the last year meeting that discussed a number of issues related to the performance of the GCC Zakat departments. 

The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was headed by Director General of the GAZT, Mr. Ibrahim bin Mohamed Al Mufleh, with Mr. Saad bin Abdul Aziz Al Saedan and Mr. Nayef bin Hazal Al Qahtani.
