 GAZT holds 2nd training course for Aramco employees at Dhahran

In line with its efforts to raise awareness about the significance of Zakat and explain the income tax system and as a part of its ongoing cooperation all governmental and non-governmental sectors, the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) held the second training course for staff of Aramco, its subsidiaries, companies where Aramco has a share and employees of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

Hosted at the Saudi Aramco premises in Dhahran on 19-22/01/1437 AH, 01-04/11/2015, the training course covered the Saudi taxation system, Zakat issues, Zakat collection procedures, introduction to e-services and sign-up procedures, and the international conventions. 

HE Khalid H. Al Dabbagh, Financial Controller – Saudi Aramco, opened the training with a speech welcoming and urging the attendees to take advantage of this course. He then thanked GAZT for its quick response and holding the second training course at Saudi Aramco premises.

HE Saleh Hammad Al Hammad, Head of GAZT branch in Dammam, also gave a speech explaining significance of this course and the GAZT Director General’s keenness to engage with taxpayers and present new developments at the authority. 

The course focused on explaining the taxation system composed of income tax, capital gains tax, oil and hydrocarbons tax, gas tax, and withholding tax. It also addressed the ways to collect these taxes and Zakat collection procedures and introduced the e-services and how to sign up for them. The course also covered how to use the e-services provided by GAZT website to apply for Zakat returns currently available on the website as well as the monthly and annual withholding tax returns made available recently on GAZT website. With an overview of the international conventions, the course provides a workshop to present practical cases of the taxation systems and conditions of Zakat, taxes and conventions. It has also specified some time to answer all the questions. 

The course was facilitated by a selection of excellent employees: Mr. Ibrahim S. Al Saheem of Taxpayer Department, Mr. Hamoud bin Abdullah Al Harby of International Operations and Affairs Department, Mr. Habib bin Ali Al Rashid of Automated System Department., Mr. Ramzi bin Abdulaziz Al Imran of Dammam branch under supervision of Mr. Hassan bin Omar Balkhi, Acting Director General of Development and Research Department and Mr. Hazim bin Ahmed Akram of Saudi Aramco. At the end of the course, HE Fuad A. Al-Hazmi, Assistant Financial Controller of Saudi Aramco, extended thanks to GAZT Development and Research Department for good preparation and organization of the second course. He also thanked the participants from the authority hoping to continue cooperation with GAZT. He gave an honorary plaque from Aramco to HE Director General of the Authority for his ongoing follow up on awareness activities related to GAZT’s scope of work including this event. The plaque was received by Mr. Saleh bin Hammad Al Hammad on behalf of the GAZT Director General as other attendees were given their certificates.
