The Information Security Department of the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) obtained the ISO 2013-27001 for information security management by supplying and installing the information security project implemented by Integrated Solutions for Business Co, an integrated ISO certificate issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). GAZT Deputy Director General for Support Operations, Mr. Saleh A. Al Awaji received the certificate from IT Director Ibrahim S. Al Henaki who had received the certificate from the company that implemented the project.
GAZT is one of the governmental authorities that obtained the ISO certificate according to the new standards and after fulfilling the international standards for information system security, said Mr. Al Awaji praising the role of IT Security staff in this achievement. This achievement is one more step on the road to give technology a more central role in GAZT processes. The certificate reflects the efforts made by the information security department to develop, implement, operate, monitor, review and maintain the information security systems. These efforts were aimed at maintaining effective management of risks and providing high information protection.
This certificate is subject to regular evaluation by the granting entity, said Mr. Al Henaki. Obtaining this certificate gives GAZT confidence in information security concerning the authority's or taxpayers' information, he said. It really indicates that the GAZT complies with the information security rules and conditions, said the IT Director. An information security system requires several process that should be applied uninterruptedly, he said. This would have a positive impact on the information security level at GAZT, he said referring to the support received by the IT Department in its pursuit of performance development and achievement of high quality standards. Mr. Al Henaki also thanked Information Security Manager Mr. Khalid M. Al Ghamdi praising the role of information security staff in this achievement. Mr. Khalid Al Ghamdi said that the ISO 2013-27001 for information security is one of the outstanding international standards for information security. One of the benefits of obtaining this ISO certificate is to ensure reliability of our information security system as GAZT procedures are done through a series of processes according to the latest international security standards.
