 6 Smuggling attempts in Al Hadithah Port have been foiled

ZATCA managed to foil 6 attempts in Al Hadithah port, for smuggling over 1,4 million Captagon pills, have been concealed in consignments arrived into the Kingdom through the port.

ZATCA declared that when some consignments underwent custom inspections by applying security technologies and K-9 units (police dogs), as these quantities of Captagon pills were concealed in various methods, yet the competency and experience of ZATCA affiliates while dealing with such cases, have been proven, as in the first attempt 338,372 pills were concealed in one of trucks coming to the Kingdom through the port, as they were hidden in the radiator of the truck and the cavity of the driver's bed.

ZATCA affiliates were driven by their intellect to foil the second attempt where 405,813 pills were concealed in the ground of one of the trucks arriving at the port; similarly, the third attempt of smuggling 303,488 Captagon pills was foiled the same way as the previous attempt.

ZATCA announced that its affiliates have foiled the fourth attempt in smuggling 230,232 pills concealed within consignment of men clothing arrived at the Kingdom; ZATCA continued achieving success to foil smuggling 119,767 Captagon pills concealed in a “private" vehicle, were hidden inside the tires of the vehicle, eventually, the port has foiled 27,907 pills in the sixth attempt were concealed within the luggage for a passenger arriving at the Kingdom by a bus.

ZATCA mentioned that through coordinating with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, in order to arrest the recipients of these seizures, managed to arrest the four contraband recipients inside the Kingdom.

ZATCA spares no effort to tighten its grip over the Kingdom's imports and exports. ZATCA vows to ever be vigilant against any smuggling attempts in order to realize its goal for strengthening the security and protecting society against these harmful substances and other contraband. At the same time, ZATCA has called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling and protecting the society and national economy by reaching out to ZATCA number designated for security reports (1910), via e-mail 1910@zatca.gov.sa or by the international number (00966114208417). ZATCA, through these channels, receives and follows up reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Common Customs Law at strict confidence, with a financial reward given to the whistleblower if the reported information is proven correct
