 Inspection Visits across Multiple Sectors

ZATCA Supervisory and Inspection Teams have successfully detected over 1,000 violations of the Kingdom's tax laws. This follows an extensive series of more than 4,000 inspection visits conducted across markets and commercial establishments in various regions and cities throughout the Kingdom last week.

The detected violations include the overcharging of tax rates beyond established thresholds, failure to collect VAT, the absence of tax identification numbers on invoices, and the collection of tax from unregistered individuals.

The inspection visits conducted by ZATCA covered a range of commercial sectors, with a primary focus on retail, public trade, restaurants, and cars.

Furthermore, ZATCA emphasizes that these inspections are part of its ongoing regulatory efforts, led by field inspection teams, to ensure tax compliance among taxpayers within the business sector. The inspection aims to address commercial practices that violate regulations and controls, all within the framework of the Authority's mandate.

ZATCA has reiterated its call for business owners to adhere to the applicable tax laws in the Kingdom, emphasizing its ongoing inspection visits to markets and commercial establishments. These efforts are aimed at ensuring that taxpayers within the business sector remain in full compliance with the Kingdom tax laws.

Additionally, ZATCA urges consumers to report any establishments involved in tax violations through its official website (zatca.gov.sa) or via the VAT app on smartphones. To encourage reporters, ZATCA offers an incentive reward of 2.5% of the value of fines and violations, with a maximum reward of maximum SAR 1 million and a minimum of SAR 1,000.
