The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) continues its active role in supporting the objectives of the “Makkah Route" Initiative, one of the initiatives of the Ministry of Interior under the Pilgrim Experience Program, part of Saudi Vision 2030. ZATCA provides integrated customs services that facilitate pilgrims' journeys from departure in their home countries until their arrival in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
ZATCA is delivering its services through dedicated lounge at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah. Pilgrims arriving from countries participating in the initiative benefit from fast and flexible customs procedures, allowing them to enter Saudi Arabia smoothly and proceed directly to their accommodations without delay.
Leveraging the latest smart customs technologies and advanced systems, ZATCA ensures high efficiency and a comfortable experience for pilgrims. This aligns perfectly with the initiative's objectives of minimizing waiting times, reducing effort, and delivering exceptional service quality worthy of the pilgrims.
These efforts embody Saudi Arabia's generous spirit in serving pilgrims and reflect the outstanding integration among all participating government entities, including the Ministries of Interior, Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, and Media, in addition to the General Authority of Civil Aviation, ZATCA, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the General Authority of Awqaf, the General Directorate of Passports, STC Group, and the Pilgrim Experience Program.
