2- When shall the type of bonded zone license be determined?
When applying to establish a bonded zone, it shall be required to specify the type of license (bonded, specialized bonded, temporary bonded, bonded tanks).
3- Can a foreign trader apply for establishing a bonded zone?
A foreign trader who does not have a Saudi commercial Register can’t establish a bonded zone, but he shall be allowed to practice logistic operations and store goods inside the zone under the supervision and responsibility of the bonded zone operator.
4-Can a foreign trader benefit from existing bonded zones?
A foreign trader who does not have a Commercial Register can benefit from existing bonded zones and be subject to the supervision and responsibility of the bonded zone operator.
5- Are the approvals of government entities required when applying to establish a bonded zone?
It shall be required to provide the approval of the relevant government entities on practicing storage activity and performing operations in the bonded zone, for example, but not be limited to:
• Approval of Ministry of Energy for liquid chemical, petroleum, and petrochemical products.
• Approval of Saudi Food and Drug Authority for food, pharmaceutical, and medical products.
• Approval of Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture for agricultural and animal products.
• Any other government entities licensed for storage activity and practice operations inside bonded zones.
6- How are the operations carried out in bonded zones?
All operations related to bonded zones, from entering and exiting goods and completing all operations inside the zone, shall be carried out electronically through the bonded zones automated system on the approved platform, in a way that achieves high efficiency to ensure the facilitation of procedures and the ease of operations for operators, which contributes effectively to making the Kingdom a global logistics hub.
