ZATCA Foils an Attempt to Smuggle Over 1.2 Million Captagon Pills at Halat Ammar

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) border successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1,225,200 Captagon pills at Halat Ammar Customs Port, which were found hidden in a shipment entering Saudi Arabia through the Customs port.

ZATCA explained that the shipment, which arrived at Halat Ammar Customs Port, was declared as a "Blender covered with marble". During the customs inspection, aided by advanced security technology and K9, the large quantity of pills was discovered concealed within the shipment.

Following the seizure, ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate for Narcotics Control (GDNC) to ensure the apprehension of those receiving the smuggled goods inside Saudi Arabia. Two individuals were arrested.

ZATCA reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening customs oversight on Saudi Arabia's imports and exports, standing firm against smuggling attempts in coordination with its partners at GDNC, all in pursuit of community safety and protection from such harmful substances.

ZATCA urged the public to contribute to the fight against smuggling to protect society and the national economy by contacting the security hotline (1910), emailing (1910@zatca.gov.sa), or calling the international number (00966114208417). ZATCA receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Common Customs Law with full confidentiality and rewards informants if the information provided is accurate.
