 The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) in Jeddah Islamic seaport thwarts an attempt to smuggle more than 27.636 kilograms of Cocaine

ZATCA in Jeddah Islamic seaport managed to thwart an attempt to smuggle 27.636 kilograms of narcotic Cocaine, which were found hidden in container carrying on potato shipment coming to the Kingdom through the port.

ZATCA clarified that while an arrived containers were being inspected, that amount of Cocaine hidden in the Air conditioner of the shipment container was found.

After completing the seizure, ZATCA noted that there was coordination with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to ensure that the recipients of the seized items were arrested inside the Kingdom, where they were arrested, and they were two people.

ZATCA stressed that it continue to tighten customs control over imports and exports of the Kingdom, and stands against the attempts by smugglers in order to achieve the most important pillars of its strategy which is strengthen the security and protection of society by reducing attempts to smuggle such pests and other drugs.

ZATCA called on all people to contribute to anti-smuggling to protect society and the national economy by contacting thereon the number allocated to security reports (1910) or via email (1910@zatca.gov.sa ) or the international number (00966114208417) Through these channels, ZATCA receives reports related to smuggling offences and breaches of the provisions of the Unified Customs law in strict confidentiality, granting a financial reward to the whistleblower if the report information is correct.
