ZATCA: April 29th is the Deadline for Submission of Zakat Returns for Establishments and Corporate Income Tax for the Past Year 2023

The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) clarified that the deadline for submitting zakat returns for establishments, and Corporate Income Tax (CIT), is April 29, 2024. This pertains to the fiscal year ending on December 31, 2023.

The Authority explained that this is in accordance with Article 60 of the Corporate Income Tax Law, which mandates the submission of tax returns within 120 days of the end of the tax year represented by the return. Additionally, as per Article 17 of the Implementing Regulation for Zakat Collection, taxpayers are required to submit their returns and attachments, and pay zakat using the forms and procedures specified by ZATCA within a period not exceeding 120 days from the end of the zakat year. If the end of this period coincides with an official holiday, it extends to the first working day thereafter.

ZATCA urged targeted establishments to expedite the submission of their returns for the previous fiscal year by the specified deadline through the official website (zatca.gov.sa). Additionally, the Authority encouraged those seeking further information to contact them through the call center unified No. (19993), operating 24/7, or "Ask Zakat, Tax and Customs" account on (X) platform (@Zatca_Care), or through email (info@zatca.gov.sa), or by instant chat on the Authority's website.
