ZATCA foils attempt to smuggle one million Captagon pills in a melons shipment

The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,001,131 Captagon pills hidden in a consignment inbound to Saudi Arabia through the Port.

ZATCA stated that upon its inspection of a trucks passing through the port, Captagon pills were found hidden inside a melon consignment, as the pills were stuffed inside fruits and covered back using their shells.

After the consignment was confiscated, ZATCA contacted the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to arrest the recipients of the drugs inside the Kingdom.

The Authority has assured the public that it is imposing customs control on the Kingdom's imports and exports and that it has no mercy on smugglers. ZATCA continues its cooperation with its partners in the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, to ensure the society is protected and safe against such drugs.

ZATCA invites the public to contribute to the fight against smuggling attempts to protect society and the national economy. ZATCA has dedicated its number for security reports (1910), the e-mail (1910@zatca.gov.sa), and the international number (00966114208417). Through such channels, ZATCA receives reports on smuggling and violations of the provisions of the Common Customs Law confidentially, while granting a financial reward to the informant if the report is correct.
